We are not required to appoint a data protection officer and have not appointed one.

3. Hosting / Website provision (server logs)

This Website is hosted via Author Websites by BookBub (service provider). When you access the Website, technical data may be processed to deliver the page and ensure security, including:

  • IP address (possibly in shortened form),
  • date/time of access,
  • requested page,
  • user agent / browser information,
  • referrer URL,
  • error logs.

Purpose: website delivery, stability, security, abuse prevention.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable website).

Retention: typically [e.g., 30 days] for security and troubleshooting, unless longer retention is required to investigate abuse.

4. Mailing list / newsletter

If you subscribe to our mailing list, we process:

  • your email address,
  • subscription metadata (timestamp, confirmation, IP address where applicable),
  • (optional) name if you provide it.

Purpose: sending updates about releases, errata, and new materials.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Double opt-in: If enabled, you will receive an email to confirm your subscription.

Withdrawal: You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

If the provider is outside the EU/EEA, transfers may occur based on appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. Book retailer links (e.g., Amazon)

This Website links to third-party retailers. When you click such a link, you leave our Website. The retailer processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not control retailer processing.
